Robbie Sherwood is the Communications Director for the Arizona House of Representatives Democratic Caucus. He is an Arizona native with an extensive and diversified background in media, public policy, speech writing, social media, and campaigns. He previously served as Communications Director for Phoenix Mayor Greg Stanton and District Director for Congressman Harry Mitchell. He has also launched two public relations firms and the non-profit advocacy organization Progress Arizona. Prior to his consulting, public policy and advocacy work, Robbie enjoyed a 17-year career as a journalist for The Arizona Republic and East Valley Tribune where he delivered comprehensive, award-winning coverage and analysis of the Arizona State Legislature and politics. Robbie has a journalism degree and a master's degree in creative nonfiction writing, both from Arizona State University. He is a proud member of the Gamma Mu Boulé of Sigma Pi Phi fraternity. He lives in Mesa with his wife Joan Sherwood (a past President of Links, Inc.; and member of Alpha Kappa Alpha, Inc. and Jack and Jill of America, Inc.), and they have two sons, Ian and Ryan.
