For 23 years, the Arizona Commission of African-American Affairs (AZCAAA) Annual Conference has been a driving force for unity, empowerment, and progress in Arizona’s African-American community. What began as a modest gathering has transformed into a dynamic, four-day event, offering opportunities to engage, collaborate, and celebrate the rich diversity and resilience of our community.

Rooted in AZCAAA’s six pillars—Youth, Economic Development, Sustainability, Health, Education, and Justice—this event provides a platform to address key issues, foster dialogue, and inspire action through:

  • Powerful workshops and panel discussions led by experts and community leaders.
  • Networking opportunities to connect with changemakers across the state.
  • The Unsung Heroes Award Ceremony, celebrating individuals making extraordinary contributions.

Tuesday, February 11th

  • Tour of Historic South Phoenix
    • Experience the rich history and cultural legacy of South Phoenix through the lens of its African-American community. This guided tour highlights key landmarks, historic neighborhoods, and the profound contributions African-Americans have made to shaping the area’s identity and Arizona’s history.

Wednesday, February 12th

  • Legislative Briefing
    • Gain critical insights into Arizona’s legislative priorities and policy discussions that impact the African-American community. This session connects community members with lawmakers, fostering dialogue and understanding.

Thursday, February 13th

  • Governor’s Interfaith Breakfast
    • Experience a powerful moment as community leaders address the Arizona House of Representatives, emphasizing the importance of inclusion and advocacy within our state government.
  • Press Conference
    • Join us as we bring attention to key issues and highlight the work of the Arizona Commission of African-American Affairs. This high-visibility event sets the tone for the week and garners media coverage.
  • Opening Floor Session
    • Experience a powerful moment as community leaders address the Arizona House of Representatives, emphasizing the importance of inclusion and advocacy within our state government.
